بدأت فصول هذه الرواية تنسج مع بداية الحرب الغاشمة التي شنها الاحتلال الاسرائيلي على غزة نهاية عام 2008 م وبداية 2009 م.
عاش المؤلف (الذي كان قابعاً في معتقل النقب القريب من موقع الحدث) أحداث الحرب فالطائرات تمر في سماء المعتقل والمذياع والتلفاز لايغلقان على مدار الأربع وعشرين ساعة، والتحليلات والتوقعات بين الأسرى لا تنتهي وبرغم ذلك فإن المؤلف لم يسجل من الأحداث الإجرامية سوى القليل القليل مما حدث على أرض الواقع.
ولكن تبقى الرواية عملا أدبياً رائعاً يحفظ به تاريخ مرحلة عصيبة مرت بها غزة هاشم والتي بإذن الله ستبقى رمزا للعزة والكرامة.
استطاع المؤلف تسجيل صفحة جديدة من صفحات الحب والحرب، حيث يتجلى الصراع بين نداء الواجب نحو الوطن ومغريات الهروب إلى المستقبل فيحسم الصراع منتصرا للواجب على أية مصلحة ذاتية.
