تدور أحداث هذه الرواية/المسرحية القصيرة في الطابق الخامس من إحدى الأبنية العالية في مدينة ساحلية سورية. من خلال الحوارات المتواصلة بين شخصيات أنثوية وذكورية تنتمي للعائلة نفسها يتم تسليط بعض الضوء على ثقافة الاستقطاب السياسي السائدة والصدع الوطني ثلاثي الأبعاد الذي أفرزته الأزمة السورية العميقة. تتكوّن العائلة من: عبد الحميد الجدري، عميد مهندس في إدارة التدريب الجامعي، منيرة الخنّاق، معلمة في المدرسة الثانوية، صلاح الجدري، نقيب في الجيش العربي السوري، سناء الجدري، طالبة جامعية في كلية الطب البشري، إبراهيم الجدري، طالب جامعي في كلية العلوم الطبيعية، بيلسان الجدري، طالبة مدرسة في الثالث الإعدادي، ماهر السنجابي، خطيب سناء، طبيب أسنان في عيادة خاصة، بالإضافة إلى سلمى الديكي، خطيبة صلاح، ممرضة في المستشفى الوطني.
