تشير المهارة التي كتب بها الصديق البروفيسور الدكتور المهندس علي إبراهيم دريوسي مجموعته القصصية "حجر الجلخ" إلى تلك القدرة على إعادة الاعتبار لكاتب القصة القصيرة وفنها، من خلال قدرته العالية على البناء النصي وبناء الشخصيات والمواقف وابتكار الأزمات والحلول بسرد ممتع وأحداث مشوِّقة بجرأة عالية غير مسبوقة في موضوع الجنس، وبشكل يُذكِّر بالكاتبين هنري ميلر وألبيرتو مورافيا في بناء الشخصيات والأحداث. بعد قراءتي لهذه المجموعة التي تتجاوز موسم الهجرة الى الشمال للطيب صالح والمقارنة كونهما في مجال مقولة شرق غرب التي ستتجدَّد بشكل مختلف هذه المرة مع "حجر الجلخ" ومؤلفها، شعرت بإمكانية استعادة اللحظة الضائعة لهذا الفن الرفيع والخاص للغاية والذي بناه قصّاصون سوريون بارعون على مدى قرن كامل وكاد أن يضيع لولا بضعة أسماء، أعتقد جازماً بأن الصديق علي سيكون من أهمها لمعرفتي بالتراكمات المعرفية التي يختزنها ولجرأته على إعلان مواقف عادلة وبحساسية أخَّاذة غالباً ما أخلص لها كتاب القصة البارعين.
