كاتب وصحافي مصري، حصل على الدكتوراه في النقد الأدبي الحديث، والماجستير في الأدب العربي القديم. فازت روايته «سفر المرايا» بجائزة دبي الثقافية عام 2013، وحصل على جائزة «كتاب اليوم للقصة القصيرة» في 2014. له مجموعة قصصية عنوانها «نفق سري» صدرت في 2020. إضافة إلى كتابين نقديين: «المُناظرة والحجِاج» 2019، و«السلطة والحرية بنية السرد في سُداسية إبراهيم الكوني»، عام 2019.

للسلطة أركان ثلاثة (العرش والمال والمرأة)، ثلاث خطايا تتصارع فيما بينها لتجسد شر السلطة الذى لا خير معه، لكنها سرعان ما تتحد إذا ما شعرت بخطر يهددها يسمى الحرية، حرية ألا تكون عبدًا لأى من ثالوث الخطيئة (العرش أو المال أو المرأة)، فتكون سيد قرارك وتأخذ قرار الرحيل والترحال، وقتما تشاء، وإلى المكان الذى تريده، كدرويشٍ هائـمٍ على وجهة يدرك مقصده، هذا هو المعنى الذى أسس عليه الروائى إبراهيم الكونى سداسية الأسلاف والأخلاف، وعلى هذه العقدة الدرامية بنى شخوصه الروائية المستندة إلى التخييل التاريخى والسردى، وأظن أنه عاش حياته على هذا النحو، وفقا لمذكراته التى بلغت 4 أجزاء حتى الآن.. الكتاب الذى بين يديك يدور في فلك تحليل البنية السردية لسداسية الكونى المجسدة لهذا الصراع، ويتخذ الباحث من السلطة والحرية محورًا لها.

الروائى الليبي ذو الأصول الأمازيعية، يرى أن منجزه الروائى هو محاولة لـ«قهر الموت».. يستشهد بصنيع داهية كشهرزاد التى برهنت "أن الإنسان يستطيع أن يحقق الخلود لو تحلى بالشجاعة ليروى".. أولم يكن شعار شهرزاد "القص أو الموت؟".
من هذا المنطلق أعاد الكونى سيرة أساطير الأمازيغ، ليـُـدخل الصحراء إلى حرم الرواية العالمية، ويروى (سيرة العدم)، التى لم ير العالم فيها "سوى خيالات عابرة لأمة الضياع".
