يأتي هذا الكتاب متمماً لكتاب سبقه عنونته بـ: لغة الجسد وفلسفته في التراث العربي، وقد ضم مادة وفيرة حول لغة الجسد وفلسفته في التراث العربي، وكانت نيتي أن يشتمل ذلك الكتاب على مبحث عن لغة الجسد في التراث الشعبي، إلا أن ظروف الطباعة ومتطلباتها حالت دون تحقيق ما انتويته، وها أنا أقدم للقارئ كتابي هذا عن لغة الجسد في التراث الشعبي العربي برجاء تحقيق الوعد بالالتفات إلى التراث الشعبي وما يزخر به من مادة تتعلق بهذا الموضوع الذي يعد حديثاً في بابه رغم أن للعرب تراث غني بمادة هذا الموضوع الذي لم يدرس الدراسة المناسبة حتى اليوم، وأغلب ما نجده حوله هو إشارات في هذا الكتاب أو ذاك، إلا أن تهيئة المادة المناسبة للموضوع وتجميعها من مصادرها ومواردها تعد الخطوة الأولى التي تقوم عليها الدراسات التراثية المستقبلية بعد أن تفتحت الرؤى حول ضرورة دراسة التراث الشعبي وتدريسه كعلم في المعاهد والجامعات حاله حال أي من العلوم الإنسانية.
