يتوزع مضمون هذا المؤلف الذي بين يدينا بين مقدمة من القانون الجنائي بدت للمؤلف ضرورية لوضع الدارس في الإطار الحقيقي والتاريخي والإنساني والاجتماعي للقانون الجنائي المنظم لحياة الإنسان في المجتمع والضابط لسلوكه ولتحديد موقع القانون الجنائي بالنسبة لسائر القوانين والعلوم الإنسانية والجنائية وإبراز وظائفه الاجتماعية المتعددة.
ومن ثم بعد تحديد مصادر القانون الجنائي، انتقل إلى دراسة النظرية العامة للجريمة فتناول التعريف بالجريمة وتقسيمها وتصنيفها ومن ثم دراسة الركن القانوني وما يتضمنه من بحث في أحكامه والمسائل المتفرعة عنه كمسائل القياس والتفسير والنظر في شرعية القوانين من قبل القاضي ومسألة تطبيق القانون الجنائي من حيث الزمان والمكان ولا سيما مسألة الصلاحية الإقليمية والذاتية والشخصية والعالمية، ومسألة الاسترداد وأحكامه ومفعول القوانين والأحكام الجزائية الأجنبية في لبنان.
وبعد ذلك انتقل إلى دراسة الركن المادي للجريمة باحثاً في جرائم الفعل والامتناع وفي الصلة السببية بين الفعل والنتيجة الجريمة وفي الجرائم التامة دون نتيجة والجرائم الشكلية وفي اجتماع الجرائم المادي والمعنوي وفي المحاولة الجرمية وأحكامها وأخيراً في نظرة العلم الجنائي الحديث للركن المادي للجريمة. وفي القسم الأخير من الدراسة تركز البحث حول الركن المعنوي للجريمة والأسس التي يقوم كما صار البحث في الجرائم القصيدية والجرائم غير القصدية مع تحديد مفهوم الخطأ الجنائي وبيان وضع المخالفات بالنسبة لهذا الركن بالذات.
