في روايتها "سمك بأحشائه" تقارب الروائية "معصومة العبد رب الرضاء"، موضوع الصدام الفكري بين الموروث والثقافة الجديدة، وتنطلق في التعبير عن ذلك من خلال ردود فعل بطلة القصة فاطمة وأفعالها وأفكارها التي حاولت إدخالها في نقاش ثقافي حاد مع ثقافات أخرى من خلال المفاهيم البديهية، باعتبار أن المهم هو ما يندرج على ألسنة الناس، والذي هو في حقيقته نتيجة أيضاً مواقف متناقضة، وهذا ما يتمظهر في الرواية من خلال حوارات البطلة في أروقة إحدى الجامعات الأمريكية، حيث تسجل لافتة في تقديم مبادء ثقافتها القائمة على اعتبار أن الإنسان قيمة بذاته البشرية ولا يجوز التمييز بين إنسان وآخر بذهنية الدونية نتيجة لتلك النظريات الجدلية والفلسفية التي أنتجت ذهنيات ذات فهم معين، وأنتجت أيضاً مواقف متناقضة، وهذا ما يتمظهر في الرواية من خلال حوارات البطلة في أروقة إحدى الجامعات الأمريكية، حيث تسجل جرأة لافتة في تقديم مبادئ ثقافتها القائمة على اعتبار أن الإنسان قيمة بذاته البشرية ولا يجوز التمييز بين إنسان وآخر بذهنية الدونية نتيجة أن قسماً من البشر تهيأت له ظروف لم تتهيأ لنظيره في الخلق، فتعبَر فاطمة عن ارتباطها بجذورها الثقافية وعن انتمائها القومي الذي تفخر به برغم رؤية الآخرين له من منظتر مختلف.
ومهما يكن من أمر الرواية ورايتها فإنها يسجل لها أنها استطاعت تحريك السؤال الباعث على تنشيط وتحريك الذاكرة الموروثة لإخراجها من دائرة الصمت إلى دائرة السؤال والبحث...
