هذا الكتاب هو ثمرة محاضرات ألقيت في كلية الحقوق والعلوم السياسية والإدارية في الجامعة اللبنانية، الفرع الرابع في السنة الجامعية 2015- 2016.
إنطلقت مُن التصميم والمفاهيم المعتمدة في مقرر الزميل الدكتور عصام إسماعيل والمتوافق مع توصيف المادة في كلية الحقوق.
الكتاب موجز لأن هذه المادة لا تتسع لها المجلدات وقد أردته تعليمياً ليس إلا ومن هنا إعتماد الأسلوب السهل والمختصرات في سرد المفاهيم والحقبات التاريخية.
حاولت جاهداً أن يكون كتابي (كتيبي) موضوعياً: ولكن في موضوع حقوق الإنسان المقرر أو الكتاب الموضوعي جداً هو كتاب لا يكتبه صاحبه بل يعده أعداداً.
الأستاذ الجامعي ليس ماكينة ومادة حقوق الإنسان ليست الرياضيات، في الدراسة القانونية توجه الأستاذ المحاضر لا بد أن يبرز حتى في المواد الأقل عرضة "للخرق" مثل القانون المدني أو حتى أصول المحاكمات المدنية أو الجزائية.
عسى أن تكون كلماتي ولو قطرة صغيرة في بحر الوعي البشري: دون إحترام حقوق الإنسان في المساواة والديمقراطية والحرية لا طمأنينة ولا سلام.
السجون مليئة، الأمن غير مستتب، العنف يغزو العالم، أكرر مراراً وتكراراً: دون إحترام حقوق الإنسان في المساواة والديمقراطية والحرية لا طمأنينة ولا سلام.
