يشتمل هذا الكتاب على تعريف بقانون العمل اللبناني ولمحة عن تاريخه، ومصادر قانون العمل، ونشأة النقابات، والحرية النقابية، والإضراب، وعقود العمل الجماعية، وقضاء العمل، كما أضيف إلى هذه الطبعة (الثانية) فصلاً خاصاً بإقتراح لتعديل الباب الرابع من قانون العمل اللبناني المتعلق بالتنظيم النقابي كي تكون النصوص اللبنانية أكثر توافقاً مع الإتفاقية ذات الرقم (87) الصادرة عن منظمة العمل الدولية.
كما أضيفت إلى هذه الطبعة أيضاً أبحاثاً هي على قدر من الأهمية ترتبط إرتباطاً وثيقاً بالمواضيع المعالجة في هذا الكتاب، وهي عشرة أبحاث، ومنها: 1-نص قانون العمل اللبناني الصادر في 1946/9/23 مع التعديلات، 2-مقاربة وخيارات من أجل هيكلية نقابة جديدة بقلم الأستاذ غسان صليبي، 3-الإتفاقية الرقم 87 الخاصة بالحرية النقابية... 4-الإتفاقية الرقم 98 الخاصة بتطبيق مبادئ الحق العام في التنظيم النقابي وفي المفاوضة الجماعية، 5-الإتفاقية الخاصة بمساواة العمال والعاملات في الأجر لدى تساوى قيمة العمل (رقم 100)، 6- الإتفاقية بشأن حظر أسوأ أشكال عمل الأطفال... 7-بعض النصوص القانونية الفرنسية المتعلقة بالمواضيع المعالجة في هذا الكتاب، 8-مجالس العمل التحكيمية في لبنان بقلم القاضية صباح سليمان، 9-الوثيقة المقدمة للمؤتمر النقابي الوطني في دورته السابعة سنة 1996، 10-بحث بالفرنسية للمؤلف / د. جورج سعد، بعنوان: "الحرية النقابية والتمثيل الجماعي للشغيلة في لبنان".
ما يميز هذا الكتاب أنه لا يقتصر على الجانب القانوني من قانون العمل في لبنان، بل يتجاوز ذلك إلى إثارة قضايا حيّوية، هي لمصلحة الفريق الأضعف في علاقة العمل...
