نشاته
ولد في مدينة حماة، نشأ في أسرة متديّنة، يتيماً فقيراً، فكان يشتغل في مهنة الخياطة نهاراً، ويدرس على العلماء في المساجد ليلاً.
تعلمه
وحبّب الله إليه طلب العلم فكان لا يقتصر على الكتب المدرسية المقرّرة بل يُقبل بشغف عظيم على كتب العلم يحلّ عويصها، ويتمثّل معارفها،

"ردود على أباطيل وتمحيصات لحقائق دينية" كتاب عربي فيه الباطل من زخرفه منبذ عواره، وعرض الحق فيه عرضاً لم يبال معه برونق لفظ أو بحسن عرض لثقة صاحبه أنّ بالحق وحده القوة الرادعة التي تجعل القلب يستسلم باطناً وإن رفض صاحبه الخضوع ظاهراً. والمؤلف لم يساير ولم يدار ولم يطل حيث أمكن الإختصار، ولم يختصر حيث ينبغي التطويل، ولم يكتب لزمان غير زماننا وإن كان الحق الذي فيه حق لكل زمان، مرتباً ردوده على الأباطيل ضمن فضول جاءت مواضيعها على النحو التالي:1- "في العقيدة" 2- ردود على أسئلة وردت إلى المؤلف من قبل النظر في الفنجان، الإسلام عقيدة دعم مسؤولية العالم أعظم من مسؤولية الجاهل، تصحيح اعتقاد حول نظرية النشؤ وغيرها. 3- في القضاء والقدر، 4- أحكام وأبحاث حول الجن،5- في القرآن الكريم،6- في الدعاء،7- في أحكام تتعلق بالمساجد، 8- قضايا المال،9- في المعاملات.
