Book Description
يتساءل المؤلّف: هل هناك مياه كافية لإنتاج الغذاء لقرابة 8 مليارات نسمة متوقّع وجودها على الكرة الأرضية في العام 2025؟ أم أنّ هناك إجراءات أخرى سوف تتّخذها القيادات السياسية للدول ذات النقص المائي، بما فيها غالبية الأقطار العربية، حيث تنبأ ببعضها المحللون الاقتصاديون للموارد المائية، وقد تمثّلت بفهم العلاقة بين المياه المتوفرة وإنتاج الغذاء من ناحية، وتجارة المياه الحقيقية من ناحية أخرى. هذا الفهم سوف يُتيح لمتّخذي القرارات النظر بإمعان وأمانة إلى التبعات أو النتائج المترتبة على خياراتهم التي يضعونها لتوازن عرض وطلب المياه بين جميع مستخدميها في السنين القادمة.ثم، يعرض المؤلّف وجهة النظر القائلة بإمكانية حلّ مشكلات القصور المائي المقترن بالقصور الغذائي، التي تبلورت في القرن الحادي والعشرين لقسم كبير من سكان المجتمع الدولي، خاصة في الدول النامية، وذلك عن طريق استراتيجية تجارة المياه الحقيقية (المياه الموجودة في المنتجات الزراعية، وما يتطلبه محتوى أيّ منتج حيواني)، أي إنتاج السلع الزراعية والحيوانية الغذائية في ال دول الغنية بالموارد المائية وتصديرها إلى الدول الفقيرة بها عبر مفهوم التجارة العالمية
