يقصد بسرية المصارف حماية الحقوق المالية التي تنشأ لدى المصارف وأصحاب هذه الحقوق الذاتية، ما تبيض الأموال فيقصد به إخفاء المصدر الحقيقي للأموال غير المشروطة أو إعطاء تبرير كاذب لهذا المصدر بأي وسيلة كانت. ونظراً لتعقد المعاملات التجارية وتطورها في عصر العولمة والإنترنت ثورة الاتصالات يكتسب هذا الموضوع أهمية قصوى من الناحية القانونية حيث باتت عملية غسيل الأموال جريمة يعاقب عليها القانون وتسعى الدول لمحاربة شبكات غسيل الموال الملوثة.
وقد اختارت المؤلفة أن تضع هذه الدراسة في ثلاثة أقسام وخاتمة. القسم الأول يتضمن التعريف بالمصاريف والقانون المصريفي وعملياته، كما بينت ماهية السرية المصرفية رفع السرية المصرفية وعقوبتها. أما القسم الثاني فقد خصصه لبحث في ماهية غسيل الأموال وجريمة غسيل الأموال كما عرضت لمراحل غسل الأموال ووسائل ذلك مبنية جرائم غسل الأموال وعقوبتها ومن هم الأشخاص المقصودين بجريمة التبييض وكيف يمكن الحد من والقضاء على جريمة غسل الأموال وما هي الآثار الناجمة عن عمليات غسيل الأموال، ومدى تطور حجم غسيل الأموال. وتناولت في القسم الثالث من الكتاب واقع غسيل الأموال عبر العالم وتجارب بعض الدول في مكافحته، وقد توصلت المؤلفة إلى أن موضوع تبييض الأموال يخالف المفاهيم الدينية والإنسانية والأخلاقية.
