أخيرا، ينفتح الستار تماما عن العمال وهم ما برحوا منهمكين في اجراء التشطيبات النهائية للديكور. يندفع من وسطهم الي مقدمة المسرح رجل يرتدي معطف الاطباء الأبيض. حول رقبته سماعة الكشف الطبي وفي أحدى يديه اختبار يهزها وهو ينظر إليها بين وقت وأخر من خلال عينين مبروزتين داخل أطار نظارة سميكة، تطلان من وجه لا نستطيع أن نصفه بجمال الخلقة.. قلق. تصدر عنه باستمرار حركات عصبية. يهرول في ذيله مدير المسرح هائجا غاضبا في حالة ربكة شاملة. يجفف عرقه المتصبب من جبينه. يدور بينهما الحديث في سرعة وحيوية كقبضات الملاكمين في مباراة رياضية.
الدكتور يونس: يا أفندى انت حالتك مش طبيعية. افهمني.. انت ايه؟ عقلك متبنج! بقى لي نص ساعة عايز أفهمك...
مدير المسرح: يا دكتور.. يا دكتور يونس. هو ده برضه تصرف عالم كبير ومحترم. تسهينا وتفتح الستارة قبل ما نكون مستعدين. الناس تقول علينا ايه بس؟
الدكتور يونس: اذا كنت حا تخوفني بالناس. حا تتعب يا أفندي. أسمع! أن لو كنت خفت يوم واحد من الناس.. فيهم اللي قال على مجنون.. تصور! مجنون! ما كنش يبقى لك حظ انك تقف اليوم قدام الدكتور يونس تكلمه وجها لوجه.. قل لى ليه؟
مدير المسرح: يا دكتور..
الدكتور يونس: (باصرار) قل لى ليه!
مدير المسرح: (مستسلما) ليه؟
الدكتور يونس: لأن الدكتور يونس نفسه عمره ما كان اتوجد ولا كانت أبحاثه واكتشافاته العلمية نورت العالم. دى أولا.. وثانيا..
مدير المسرح: (مقاطعا) طيب كفاية أولا بقى وبلاش ثانيا..
الدكتور يونس: لا! ثانيا مهمة جدا. انت تجرأت واتهمتنى دلوقت أمام الناس ان أنا سهيتك ورفعت الستارة. واسمح لي أقول لك هذا تعبير غير دقيق بالمرة. وأنا راجل علمي أحب الدقة.. أنا يا افندى.. انت اسمك ايه؟
مدير المسرح: احسان
الدكتور يونس: يا احسان! (متوقفا لحظة يتأمله) انت أصلك الجنسي ايه؟
مدير المسرح: أصلي الجنسي!
الدكتور يونس: ايوه.. ذكر؟ انثى؟ (يتقدم نحوه بالسماعة فيتنحى احسان غاضبا)
مدير المسرح: يا دكتور! انت شايفنى قدامك بفستان والا ببدلة.
