مرة أخرى يا غرناطة، أيتها السفينة الملعونة منذ الأبد، مرة أخرى نلتقي. بعد فراق قرون أو فراق أيام نلتقي. فاطمة قتلت في ليلة عنف سادية وشحنوا تابوتها على ظهرك المقوس من أثر السنين والضحايا. وجدوا جثتها ملقاة بالطريق العام، وجدوها معفرة بالتراب، ممزقة الثياب والأوصال كأي شيء لا نفع فيه ولا حاجة للبشر به، وغير بعيد عنها كانت الشعارات الحمراء المعلقة على الجدران تتغنى بالشعب وحريته وسلطته المطلقة، أه، لو كان الشعب رجلاً لقتلته. تشاء الظروف أن تُقتل فاطمة في نفس اليوم الذي وصلت فيه إلى (م)، لم يقبضوا بعد على القاتل. يبدو أنها جرائم تعوّد عليها الناس بهذا البلد، عشرة توابيت مشحونة على ظهر السفينة وكلها توابيت نساء. فاطمة لم تكن تعمل عند أحد. كانت تسكن رفقة صديقة مغربية بمسكن حقير بضواحي المدينة، مسكن كل أثاثه سرير وكراسي وبعض أواني الطبخ القديمة. بحثت الشرطة عن صديقتها دون أن تقف لها على أثر. لعلها قُتلت هي الأخرى ويتدثر جسدها الآن برمال الصحراء المشتعلة.
