وإني لأهدي كتابي هذا إلى أولي الألباب من كل علاّمة محقّق، وبحّاثة مدقّق، لابس الحياة العلمية فمحّص حقائقها؛ ومن كل حافظ محدّث جهبذ حجُة في السنن والآثار، وكل فيلسوف متضلّع في علم الكلام، وكلّ شاب حيّ مثقف حرّ قد تحلّل من القيود وتملّص من الأغلال، ممن نؤملهم للحياة الجديدة الحرّة، فإن تقبله كل هؤلاء واستشعروا منه فائدة في أنفسهم، فإني على خير وسعادة.
وقد جهدت في إخراج هذا الكتاب، بنحت الجواب فيه على النحو الأكمل من كل الجهات، وقصدت به إلهام المنصفين فكرته وذوقه، بدليل لا يترك خليجة، وبرهان لا يدع وليجة، وعنيت بالسنن الصحيحة والنصوص الصريحة، عناية أغنى بها هذا الكتاب عن مكتبة حافلة مؤثلة بأنفس كتب الكلام والحديث والسير ونحوها، ممّا يتصل بهذا الموضوع الخطير، بفلسفة معتدلة كل الإعتدال، صادقة كل الصدق، وبأساليب تفرض على من ألمّ به أن يسيروا خلفه وهم له تابعون، من أوّله إلى الفقرة الأخيرة منه، فإن ظفر كتابي بالقرّاء المنصفين فذلك ما أبتغيه، وأحمد الله عليه.
