من هو "شمس الدين التبريزي" الذي جعل "جلال الدين الرومي" يخر مغشياً عليه من الذهول؟ أَوَليس هو نقيضه الذي أراد أن يجعله يرى "حاله" الحقيقية المغايرة لحالته الواقعية؟ لِمَ "استهول" الرومي هذه الحادثة العارضة، وشحنها بطاقة روحه، كلها، في الحين، مع أنه صنع منها، فيما بعد، "ملحمة" كونية؟ ومع ذلك يتساءل صاحب كتاب "الطريق إلى قونية" ، الطبيب والروائي خليل النعيمي: كيف يمكن لنا أن نفهم التقاء النقيضين؟ فعندما يلتقي نقيضان، تاريخياً، بأية وسيلة وكيف، نستطيع تمييز أحدهما عن الآخر؟ وهل ذلك ضروري، هذا إذا افترضناه ممكناً؟.
عبر صفحات هذا الكتاب يأخذنا المؤلف في رحلة عبر التاريخ ويحط بنا في رحاب شمس الدين التبريزي (582-645ه) ويعقد مقارنة مع حياة تلميذه جلال الدين الرومي مقدماً لنا مشاهداً من رحلاته التي قام بها إلى مدن عدة، منها قونية في الأناضول وحلب ودمشق وبغداد وغيرها. فجاءت كتابة النعيمي هنا بمثابة ملىء الفراغ الآتي بالأحداث الآفلة، تكمل المشهد التاريخي، فيكون بذلك معادلاً للحقيقة الضائعة، وقد انتهج نهجاً خاصاً في الروي بيّن فيه عكوف التبريزي على عباداته وتأملاته وقراءاته وتلاميذه ومريديه وأصفيائه مع التركيز على تلميذه جلال الدين الرومي الذي اعتبره عاشقاً لأستاذه . "كان من الطبيعي في هذه الحال، أن يتمادى الرومي في عشقه، في عشق "شمس" حتى الفناء، لكأن جلال الدين الرومي "اخترع" نقيضه ليمنحه كل الحب الذي يستحقه النقيض".
