"قلعة بجبل لبنان حيّاها الزمان، شلوح الأرز بتلوح فوق جبالها، صخور العنيدة سياجها السنديان وغير أيد الربّ ما بتطالها، لبست الطرحة من زهور الأقحوان وحيّكت غمر الزنابق شالها، غروبها الهربان ع أبعد مكان باقة بنفسج من نسج مغزالها، مثل الثلج بردان خيّم ع الجنان ليل القصب مشلوح فوق تلالها، أطفالها فرسان من قبل الأوان وشبّانها بتكبر بكبر فعالها، النسر بسماها ما بيشعر بالأمان بالجو لو شاحت عيون رجالها، فؤادها وأحمد شجاعة وعنفوان دروس البطولة علمّو أجيالها، ومحمود أستاذ الفصاحة والبيان و"أميرة الصحراء" هل هلالها، بربوعها محمد بو شقرا هون كان وشعّ نور العقل من عقّالها، فيها سرايا ودار مرمح للحصان وعلي باشا سيفها وخيّالها، تلمع عاكتف الشوف نجمة بعذران سرّ الحلا مرسوم فوق جبينها".
"شرود الزمن" شعلة تضاء على متاريس الوجع بعضها سياسي وآخر وجداني ووطني، وقد يكون معظم الناس يحملون الحس العام، لكن الشاعر هو الذي بمقدوره أن يحمل في داخله حسن اللغة للتعبير عن مكنونات الخالق في الخلق...
