ولد وفيق غريزي في بتاتر في جبل لبنان عام 1942 وهو شاعر وناقد وباحث. تلقى علومه الثانوية والجامعية في القاهرة ومارس التعليم في عدد من ثانويات الجبل.

يعد الشاعر وفيق غريزي من أهم شعراء الحداثة الشعرية في لبنان، لا نعطي صفة الإطلاقية لهذا التقييم، ولكن عندما نبدأ بقراءة إبداعه بروية وتأن يصبح الحديث مساراً مفتوحاً عن مجمل خطابه الشعري المشروع، وخاصة أن الشاعر هو من أولئك المبدعين المهتمين بالأبعاد الجمالية والصور الشعرية الكامنة فيها، نكتشف هذا، من خلال وهج قصائده، ويقظة ذاكرته، ونبرات دلالاته وتأويلاته. هذا، إذا ما انخرطنا في نياسم وخطوط ومنحنيات نصه، وتفكيك وتحليل بنية خطابه الشعري المنجز حتى الآن.
ولأن تناول قصائد الشاعر وفيق غزيزي، يستحق أكثر من وجهة نظر قدم لهذا العمل في جزئه الأول الأستاذ روبير غانم بمقدمة جاءت بعنوان (شرط أول هو الشعر) ومما جاء فيها "... شاعر هو هذه المرة، وفيق غريزي، فبعد كتب له عديدات في المباحث العامة وبخاصة في النقد الأصيل العميق، يكشف الستار عن إحدى مخطوطاته الشعرية العديدة ليظهرها إلى النور، أو تحديداً، ليتشاسع نورها، فالشعر الشعر، عبر النص الوجداني أو القصيدة، وشروطها البالغة القسوة، هو نور على نور في نور ...".
يجمع هذا الكتاب (الأعمال الشعرية الكاملة: الجزء الأول) للشاعر والكاتب "وفيق غريزي" وتضم 1- "قصائد إلى عشتروت" وتتألف من (37) قصيدة. 2- "ديوان صلاة العشب" ويتألف من (16) قصيدة، 3- "ديوان رمل الغواية، ويتألف من (19) قصيدة، 4- "أردد إسمك صلاة" ويتألف من (26) قصيدة، وأخيراً "لسماء عينيها الدافئتين" وهي مجموعة شعرية تتألف من (47) مقطعاً شعرياً.
