"فؤاد أفرام البستاني" كاتب، ومؤرخ، وموسوعي، ولغوي، ومرب، ومدرس، ورئيس جامعة وبحاثة ومدبج حوليات -وليس التعداد على سبيل الحصر- وهو في كل ذلك عالم أبداً ورجل علم، كالشمس أنى ليضيئها مصباحي الصغير. وإذ بالشعراء والكتاب، وهم بعد في طور حداثتهم، يترقبون من هذا الـ"بوالو" ذي الرأي الصواني، كلمة على لسانه تؤهلهم لسدة التكريس.
وهذا الكراس يضم نص المداخلة التي قدمها الحقوقي والأديب إميل بجاني في جامعة القديس يوسف وذلك في الاحتفال الذي قيم بمناسبة الذكرى الماية لولادة فؤاد البستاني وذلك مساء 3 تشرين الثاني سنة 2006. حيث تحدث المحاضر عن فكر فؤاد البستاني وتطلعاته الفكرية والتاريخية والسياسية والأدبية، وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن هذه المحاضرة قد جاءت باللغة الفرنسية وهي اللغة الأصلية للمحاضرة وباللغة العربية أيضاً حيث تم الاعتناء بترجمتها.
