"لم يكن مار مارون من قادة المغازي، ولا من مكتسحي الدول، ولا من مؤسّسي الممالك والإمبراطوريّات. فلا بدع أن لا يهتمّ به المؤرّخون فيدوّنوا فتوحاته… حياته قضاها هادئةً رتيبةً راهبٌ متنسّك شاء أن يعتزل الناس، قبل خمس عشر قرنًا، فلم يُحدث في مُحيطه أثرًا مادّيًا صاخبًا. ولكنّه لم ينجُ من التفاف الناس حول اسمه، بفضل ذلك الإشعاع الروحانيّ السامي الّذي يميّز به الله أولياءه ومختاريه". نجد في هذا الكُتيّب سيرة مار مارون، ونبذة عن تلاميذه وديره، كما ينقّب الكاتب في بعض الشواهد الّتي أتت على ذكر قدّيسنا، ويمحّص في المصادر التاريخيّة والروايات التّي يستقي منها التقليد سيرة القدّيس مارون.
