في هذا العمل يسجل الإنسان والباحث اللبناني "مصطفى حيدر الضيقة" موقف لبنان من الحركة الصهيونية بالإستناد إلى التاريخ القديم والحديث في آن. يقول الضيقة في مقدمة كتابه "التاريخ ذاكرة الشعوب، ونحن إذ نتناوله لكشف الحقائق والوقائع لنعطي بعضاً من حقها. معتمدين التحليل والربط لفهم مجريات الأحداث والتطورات والمواقف السياسية والعسكرية التي رافقت موقف لبنان الرسمي والشعبي من الحركة الصهيونية وأطماعها التوسعية. ونتوخى من خلال التحليل الموضوعي فهم ما يجري من تطورات كي لا نقع في الكمائن التي ينصبها أعداء أمتنا ووطننا المعذب آملين أن يجد القارئ العزيز الفائدة التي يرجوها..."
يقع العمل في خمسة فصول يتناول الكاتب في كل منها مرحلة من مراحل تاريخ الحركة الصهيونية، ويبدأ الفصل الأول في الأبعاد الاستراتيجية للأطماع الصهيونية ونقرأ فيه: موقف لبنان من التطورات السياسية والعسكرية 1918- 1942. ثم الفصل الثاني وجاء بعنوان: الموقف اللبناني من الحركة الصهيونية وتعاطفه مع القضية الفلسطينية 1943- 1946. أما الفصل الثالث فيوضح موقف لبنان من الخطر الإسرائيلي والتطورات السياسية والعسكرية 1947- 1938. ويكشف الفصل الرابع عن: حرب فلسطين على الحدود اللبنانية وموقف لبنان من التطورات السياسية والعسكرية 1948- 1949. ويأتي الفصل الخامس والأخير ليبحث في موقف لبنان من التطورات السياسية والعسكرية 1950- 1952. وفيه يسلط الضوء على مشكلة اللاجئين 1951. أما نتيجة البحث فتكشف للقارئ حقائق دامغة، ومؤمرات واتصالات يورد فيها الكاتب أسماء رجال سياسة لبنانين كان لهم موقف مؤيد من الحركة الصهيونية وآخرين معتدلين في مواجهة المشروع الصهيوني، ويذكر أيضاً أسباب إخفاق المواقف العسكرية لبعض الدول العربية.
وأخيراً يقول "...وإذا السياسة اللبنانية لم تتوصل لضرب إسرائيل وعدم السماح لها بإيقاع الخلاف داخل المجتمع اللبناني. فعليها التنسيق مع البلاد العربية والإسلامية، بمنهجية واقعية".
