وهنا يقفز سؤال ويفرض نفسه... لماذا إذن انتصر المسلمون رغم هذا الاختلاف الكبير في موازين القوى؟ والإجابة على هذا السؤال تنحصر في أمر واحد هو أن الإسلام وضع خطوطاً رئيسية قامت عليها الإستراتيجية العسكرية الإسلامية وكانت هذه الخطوط هي أساس النصر في كل المعارك... قادت إليه وحققته ثم أكدته.
وهذه الإستراتيجية في الحرب الإسلامية هي موضوع هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا والذي يتحدث عن أطراف النزاع في الحرب الإسلامية وعن القوى المضادة ظروفها... تكتيكاتها... أسلوبها... استراجيتها... وموقف المسلمين إزاء هذا كله. كما ويتعرض للحملات المفرضة التي حمل لواءها بعض المستشرقين ضد الإسلام من زاوية الحرب، فقد اتخذ هؤلاء موضوع الحرب في الإسلام مجالاً لمهاجمة الإسلام فأفردوا كتبهم وألسنتهم لمهاجمة الإسلام من هذه الزاوية وحاولوا بكل إمكانياتهم أن يلطخوا صورة الحرب في الإسلام ولكن الخطوط الرئيسية للإستراتيجية العسكرية الإسلامية كانت خير درع يحمي فكرة الحرب في الإسلام من هجمات هؤلاء التي قامت على التعصب وتجاهل الحقائق التاريخية.
