تعرضت الخلافة العربية الإسلامية إلى موجة كبيرة من المندسين والحاقدين على التاريخ بوجه عام والخلافة العربية الإسلامية بوجه خاص واضعين اللمسات الأولى لدس روايات تاريخية بين الأسطر في التاريخ المنصرم، وإن هذه اللمسات قد يصعب على القارئ غير المتخصص إن يشخصها دون إلمام بالتحليل التاريخي العلمي المعمق، لا سيما وإن تاريخنا تعرض لموجات وتغيرات كثيرة عبر مرور الزمن وهذه الموجات والتغيرات السياسية والإجتماعية والفكرية، قد تغير ما تراه مناسب لصالحها في التاريخ وإن كان ذلك التغيير فيه زيف وتحريف لا يمد إلى الحقيقة التاريخية بأي صلة تذكر، ومن تلك المؤثرات:
1-الإحتلالات والتغلغلات السياسية والفكرية.
2-الحالة السياسية.
3-الحركات الهدامة والطوائف الدينية.
4-النزعات والأهواء.
ويمكن القول لا يوجد في بعض الروايات التاريخية سند تاريخي مما يجبر المحلل التاريخي التعمق في متن الرواية وتخريجها من بطون المؤلفات القديمة ويقارنه مع تلك الرواية المشكوك فيها، وقد يكون الشك نوعين أما لصالح الرواية أو ضدها وبالتالي يزيد من قوة الرواية أما نحو الضعف أو نحو القوة.
كل ذلك الأمور تسهل للناقد التاريخي ترجيح الرواية التاريخية ترجيحاً صحيحاً.
