هذا كتاب عن إشكالات النقد والتحليل في العمل الكتابي الأكاديمي من وجهة نظر كمنهجية، تتضمن مقالات تعود لحقول التاريخ السياسي والنظم وعلم التاريخ لدولة الخلافة والدول التي تفرعت عنها، كتبت بموضوعية تامة، بعيدة عن التحيز أو أي هوى فكري او عقائدي، نفعها يعود للقارئ المتخصص وطلبة الدراسات العليا أكثر مما تخدم اهتمامات وعناية القارئ العام. والأهم ان الكتاب ليس بنظرية افتراضية في رؤية وكتابات المؤرخ بقدر ما هو تحصيل معرفي لأقوال المؤرخين عن المشكلات المنهجية والتاريخية الواردة في المصادر والمراجع واستخداماتها في العمل الكتابي الناجح. مخطوطة الكتاب تتكون من سبع مقالات متداخلة منهجياً، كلها اعتمدت التوثيق الدقيق وأحياناً التزمتن كذلك في النقل للأفكار والنصوص المستخدمة وماسواها من ادعاءات غير معتمدة، الأولى تدور حول مصنف نكت الوزراء للجاجرمي، احد الصدور الكبار أيام السلاجق الأواخر والفرع الفغوري الحاكم في باميان، والثانية تناولت تطاولات الواعظ والمصنف البغدادي الشهير ابن الجوزي على مؤرخ مرو وكبير بيت السمعاني ابو سعد المروزي، والثالثة في النسب الفاطمي واشكالاته المنهجية، فيما تناولت الرابعة حالة الإدارة الحلبية وتطورت الوزارة الأيوبية المحلية أيام مملكة الظاهر غازي والعزيز محمد وحفيده الناصر يوسف، سلطان الشام في تسميته اللاحقة، والخامسة تعالج الجهاد الذي تبناه الأتابك عماد الدين زنكي من اجل إنجاحه في التغلب على اولى الإمارات الصليبية الأربع التي قامت في بلاد الشام أيام الحملة الصليبية الأولى في 490ه. وهناك مقالتان في الإنكليزية عن أهمية وأصالة السياسات.
