من روائع الحكمة ما سأل على لسان الإمام علي بن الحسين من خطب ورسائل وكلمات غاية في البلاغة و البيان ولا عجب فقد أوتي أهل البيت جوامع الكلم وارتشفوا العلم من منهل الوحى الإلهي. وقد أخذوا ما لذ لهم وطاب من الحكمة والبيان وقد جمع جعفر الشيخ عباس الحائري طرفاً من جواهر الكلم والمأثورة عن علي بن الحسين فجمع شتاتها وألف بين متفرقاتها باحثاً في شتى المصادر المعتمدة عند الفريقين، فنسقها ونظمها في أبواب: الباب الأول في خطب الإمام وما جرى مجراها من بليغ كلامه وفصيح بيانه، والباب الثاني في كتب ورسائل الإمام علي بن الحسين. أما الباب الثالث فقد خصصه للقصار من كلماته وفيها حكم ومواعظ وآداب. وخصص الخاتمة لمواضيع مختلفة.
