يضم هذا الكتاب خمس مقالات تتعلق جميعاً بــ (الإدراكيات Cognitive sciences)، تُعنى المقالة الأولى بتقديم صورة تاريخية وإبستمولوجية عامة، ثم تنهض الثانية بتقديم معالجة مصطلحية للتلقي العربي لمصطلحي cognition و perception مع ربط القضية المصطلحية بالتحولات الإبستمولوجية التي شهدتها الإدراكيات منذ نشأتها، وتعالج المقالة الثالثة المقاربة الإدراكية لظاهرة (الإستعارة)، أما المقالة الرابعة فهي عن أثر الإبستمولوجيا الإدراكية في تعميق أبعاد (ما لا يترجم) بين اللغات والثقافات، وينتهي الكتاب بالمقالة الخامسة التي تضمنت جانباً من الدور الذي لعبته الإدراكيات في علاقتها بالدرس الأدبي؛ وهو جانب التأسيس الجديد لعملية النقد الأدبي.
