على ضوء حقيقة أن البنية الإدراكية لدى الإنسان هي حركةٌ دائمة بين التركيز على السمات العامة، أو التركيز على السمات الخاصة الفارقة، بين الأشياء، أو المواقف، أو العلاقات، فقد بات واضحًا أن المعنى اللغويّ هو حركة دائمة بين العموم الدلاليّ والخصوص التداوليّ. ومن هنا فإن النظرية اللسانية بصفة عامة، والنظرية الدلالية بصفة خاصة، أصبحتا تميلان إلى إقامة تكاملية متعادلة متآزرة بين أهمية المعنى الدلاليّ وأهمية المعنى التداوليّ في فهم (المعنى اللغويّ). والمقالات العلمية الواردة في هذا الكتاب تستهدف تقديم مقارباتٍ تحليلية لبعض القضايا اللغوية بتركيز واضح على أبعاد الدلالة والتداول: دلالة بعض الظواهر اللغوية وتداولياتها، أو دلالات بعض المعالجات اللسانية وما تتداوله.
