يناقش قضية اساسية شغلت الفكر اللغوى ولا تزال وهى مدى تأثير اختلاف النظم اللغوية فى اختلاف الرؤى الثقافية للكون واعالم وينطلق من فرضية " وورف " التى ترى ان اللغة تحدد الفكر وتشكل الرؤية للكون واعالم ويتابع تطور هذه الفرضية وما اعتورها من نقد ايجابى يعدل ويطور ومن نقد سلبى يهدم وينقض حتى ينتهى الى خاتمة واقعية تؤكد ان اللغة ظاهرة ثقافية تتشكل برؤية اصحابها وتقوم فى الوقت نفسه - بتشكيل عوامل استمرار هذه الرؤية لكنها قابلة دائما للتغيير واعادة التشكيل .
