يمثل حادث اغتيال "أمين عثمان" حلقة من مسلسل الاغتيالات المتتابعة في الأربعينيات من هذا القرن، وهو حادث له أهمية خاصة، غذ حدثت الجريمة باسم مصر، وكانت مصر بعيدة عن هذا الاغتيال، فقد كان الاغتيال لخدمة مصالح القصر، وانتقاماً من حادث 4فبراير 1942، وقد ثارت بشأنه آراء مختلفة، وقضايا خلافية غصت بها أوراق القضية...
كما أن أمين عثمان-كما ظهر من الدراسة- لم يكن هو الهدف الأصلي، وإنما كان فخاً لاصطياد صيد أكبر ولإثارة قضايا سياسية واجتماعية أخرى كانت مصر تعاني منها نتيجة وجود الاحتلال البريطاني الذي كان لأمين عثمان نفسه أسلوبه في التعامل معه، الأمر الذي كان من أهم أسباب اغتياله.
