"مواسم الغربة" عمل أدبي ذو تكنيك فني ينتمي إلى آليات القصة الحديثة ذلك أن المتأمل في القصص العشرة للمجموعة، بدءاً من القصة الأولى (رائحة يوم فائت) وانتهاءً بقصة (في قريتنا غريب)؛ يشي منذ الوهلة الأولى بأ، هناك تجاوزاً ثنائياً للعناصر الحداثية في الأدب العماني خاصة. فالكاتب قدم في كثير من القصص لوحات تصويرية للنفس وللذات الإنسانية، وكأنه يفرغ ما بداخله من ضجر فنياً ولغوياً، إذ جاز لنا ذلك، حتى يسحب القارئ بلا هوادة إلى عالم القصة، حيث يعول الكاتب على القارئ لتحقيق التواصل، فيستقطبه إلى أجواء النص ليشاركه فعل الإبداع والبحث عن مخرج، وفي ذلك إبراز لنمط من أنماط التطور الفني، الذي يتحدد من زاوية توجه الكاتب للقارئ الواعي، لا القارئ السلبي، وهنا يتوجب على القارئ فك خلاسم العمل؛ لأن منطق الحدوتة أصبح متحاوزاً بالعديد من الأشكال والبنى القصصية العديدة. ففي قصة (هاجس شرف) بني الحدث على التقاط خيط رفيع يبدوها هامشياً وهو أثر البيئة الخارجية في إحداث التحولات والإنقلابات المغيَرة لمسار الشخصية داخل العمل القصصي، مما يعود الشخصية إلى إنقلاب عير متوقع. فـ(صابرة) الشخصية المحورية في القصة، والخجولة، تنقلب إلى الضَد والتمرد بسبب كلام أخيها المستمر في علاقتها بقاسم الوسيم؛ الذي حرك ما بداخلها من عاطفة، تسببت في تكوين هذه العلاقة بينهما، وهي التي لم تخرج من بيتها قط. وهكذا تدور بقية قصص المجموعة، فمع كل قصة يبحث الكاتب عن وجود وخلاص للعديد من المشاكل الناجمة عن تطور حركة المجتمع وبالأخص التقليدي...
