Book Description
تدور أحداث الرواية في ضاحية لبنانية صغرية . تحكي عن ندى الفتاة الصغيرة التي أجبرت على الزواج من شخص لا تحبه ثم علاقتها بجارها عزيز وفرض تلك العلاقة على كل من في الضاحية كما على زوجها. اتصال عزيز بأطراف الحرب الأهلية وانغماس الجميع في الحرب بشكل أو بآخر, التغييرات التي طرأت على الضاحية وتحويلها لثكنة عسكرية و إنحيازات السكان وقتلهم لعزيز في نهاية الأمر.
فقدان الرجال من أصحاب التوجهات المختلفة وعدم المساس بندى نفسها لجرأتها وخوفهم منها. يقول عنها: "ندى الصولي شقراء. لاأعرف كلمة أفضل لوصفها. الشقرة التي تجعل صاحبتها ملونة ذهبية إلا حد لا أعرف إذا كانت قسماتها جميلة، لكن لون وجهها ونظراتها الطرفية ونتعة عنقها من هذه الشقرة. لندى الصولي طلة أكبر من هيئتها، طلة أعلى من قامتها القصرية وليس هذا دائما متناسقا لكنه دائما مشرق. ثم هناك فتحة الفم المضمومة كقبلة، والنظرة الشهلاء الغضبى التي فيها من ذلك طرف دعوة. مدة العنق إلى أعلى وبقدرمن مبالغة. في هذا الشيء من السينما، من فاتن حمامة وماجدة، ومن هند رستم هذه الغنة والغنج في الصوت. نظرنا إليها في المدرسة دائما كصورة وهي تصرفت كما لو أن طول نظرتها يهينها ويجعلها ترفع وجهها أكثر إلى أعلى، أو تقفله في وجوهنا".
