إذ كيف قبلت أنا الآن أن تكون هذه المؤلفات هي مؤلّفاتي الكاملة أي أنّها اكتملت وليس لي بعدها مزيد – لو لم أكن قد حكمت أن هذه المؤلفات هي كل ما عندي. وأنّ قلمي يوشك أن يسقط من أناملي.
هذا "وإنّ غداً لناظره قريب" سأصيرُ إذاً، على ألسنة النقّاد والرواة قماشة أدبيّة يفصّل منها كلّ واحد منهم ما يلائم ذوقه ومذهبه في الحياة.
سيحاول كلّ واحد منهم أن يخترعني من جديد ويكتب سيرتي وسريرتي حسب هواه. وستنسب إليّ، لا بدّ، أقوال وأفعال قد لا تكون خطرت لي على بال.
سيحاول البعض "تقشيري" لمعرفة حقيقة أمري. وقد يحاول البعض الآخر إلباسي أثواباً فضفاضة كانوا قد فصّلوها على قياسات مذاهبهم في الأدب.
لكن مهلاً! ألم أفعل كذلك بأبطال حكاياتي؟
ألم أنطق بعضهم بالحكمة والبلاغة والجمال، في حين جرّدت البعض الآخر وتركتهم عراة تحت الشمس؟
بيد أني أعطيت كل واحد من أبطال حكايتي شيئا من ذاتي، إن كان حسناً أو سوءاً.. ولذلك على من أراد الآن أن يرسم صورتي على حقيقتها، أن يلملمني عن شفاه أبطال حكاياتي.
وبعد فإنّ هذا المؤلّف يضم كتابي "حكي قرايا وحكي سرايا" و"شيح بريح".
هذا وقد أجمع النقاد على اعتبار كتبي من أكثر الكتب التصاقاً بالناس ومن أصدقها تعبيرا عم مشاعرهم ومفاهيمهم..
