تدور فكرة الرواية حول المقاومة التى يتمتع بها الشعب المصرى ضد الغزاة والمستعمرين والأغراب على طول وعرض العصور التاريخية، حيث تتشكل إرادة المقاومة وفق الغزو وشكل الاحتلال وأسلوب الاستعمار. وتهتم الرواية بحقبة الغزو الفارسى لمصر، حيث قام الشعب المصرى بثورات ثلاث وكانت الثورة الثانية بقيادة البطل الشعبى "إيناوس" الذي دفع حياته ثمنًا لهذه الثورة التي أوشكت على النجاح. ودفع التاجر المصري"وزاحر" حياة ولدية وابنته ثمنا لاشتراكه في هذه الثورة التي كانت مقدمة للثورة الثالثة التي حررت البلاد بقيادة البطل الشعبي "أميرتاوس" وتتصف هذه الرواية بخلفية تاريخية ذات مضمون درامي إنسانى عام يدور حول شخصية التاجر المصرى "وزاحر".
