يوضح تعليمات الممارسة الاشعاعية في الطب، ويأتي ذلك في جزئين رئيسيين، الأول: هو تعليمات الممارسة الإشعاعية للأشعة السينية والتشخيصية والتي تم اعدادها لتوضيح تعليمات الممارسات والاجراءات في مجال استخدام الاشعاع المؤين والتشخيص بالآشعة السينية لضمان أقل نسبة خطر من التعرض للإشعاع سواء للمريض أو الكادر الطبي أو الجمهور واتخاذ التدابير اللازمة للحد من التعرض للاشعاع وتوفير المعدات الملائمة من الأفلام ومعدات التحميض ووضع السياقات ومراقبة الانظمة التي تتلائم مع قوانين الوقاية من الإشعاع.
الثاني: وهو تعليمات الممارسة الاشعاعية في الطب النووي والعلاج بالاشعاع وهو نوع من أنواع الفحص الطبي لغرض التشخيص أو العلاج باستخدام النظائر المشعة وتضمن هذا الجزء خواص كل من مواقع الطب النووي ومواقع العلاج الاشعاعي والوقاية المهنية من الإشعاع واجراءات ازالة التلوث والنفايات المشعة في الطب النووي وكذلك امان المصادر وتخزينها.
