داستان راستان كتابي به صورت (حكايت و داستان) است نه به صورت (بياني) و داستان ها بر اساس واقعيت هستند.
افراد زيادي استاد را در هنگام نگارش اين اثر ملامت مي كردند و دغدغه آنها اين بود كه اين اثر از سوي شما مناسب نيست و در سطح بسيار پاييني قرار دارد ولي استاد جواب آنها را اينگونه بيان مي فرمودند كه: ((مقياس بزرگي و كوچكي يك اثر سختي و پيچيدگي آن نيست و هر كار ساده اي كوچك نيست. ملاك، سودمندي و مفيد بودن است)).وهمچنين ايشان اين نظر را داشتند كه اثر بايد به حال اجتماع مفيد باشد.
اين سخنان استاد از مطالعه اين اثر كاملا مستفاد مي شود زيرا استاد در اين كتاب به صورت كاملا هوشمندانه و با استفاده از داستان هاي بسيار ساده يك دور اصول دين را آموزش مي دهند بدون اينكه خواننده را با كلمات و عبارات پيچيده سردرگم كنند. كتاب داستان راستان مخصوص قشر نوجوان و جوان است ولي درعين حال بزرگسالان نيز مي توانند با خواندن اين اثر لذت كافي از بهرمند شدن از آگاهي و معارف را ببرند.
در ضمن اگر مي خواهيد كتابي را به يك نوجوان هديه دهيد يكي از بهترين اثر ها همين اثر است.
