روايةٌ ذاتُ طَعمٍ خاصّ اعتمدتْ على الوثائِق ولكنَّها ليستْ وثائقيَّة، ولا تُؤرِّخُ بقدرٍ ما ترصُدُ الصِّراعَ المَليء بالعَواطفِ والأحَاسيس لأُسطورةٍ حيّةٍ وامرأةٍ إشكاليَّةٍ هي مِسْ غيرترود بيل التي أصبحَتْ جزءًا مِنْ تاريخِ العِراق المُعاصر. تعتمدُ الرّواية في تِقنيَّتِها على شخصيَّاتٍ مَهوُوسةٍ بهذه المرأة التي صنعتْ المُلوك في الشَّرق: يُونس كاتبُ سيناريو، ونُعمان مُخرجٌ سينمائي، وهاشِم مُشغِّلُ آلةِ عَرْضٍ في سينما غرناطة، ومُنصور حارسُ المَقبرةِ البريطانية، وأبو سُقراط فَيلسوفُ بَغداد وفيرناندو المُحقِّقُ الأُمَميُّ في احتراقِ مَكتبةِ بَغداد وشخصياتٍ أخرى. أوَّلُ روايةٍ في العالَم، تُكتبُ عن مُؤسَّسةِ المَملكةِ العِراقيَّة والدُّستورِ العِراقي والمُتحفِ العِراقي والمَكتبة الوطنيَّة، ولم تحظَ سابقًا برِوايةٍ أو عملٍ أدَبي أو فنّي عدا الفيلم الهوليودي "ملكةُ الصَّحراء" للمُخرج الألْماني وارنَر هيرزوغ. "خاتونْ بغداد" روايةٌ رائدةٌ تعيدُ الاعتبارَ لهذه الشخصيَّة الفذَّة من خلالِ المَزجِ بين التاريخ والعاطفةِ والخَيال والسِّيرة، تتَجانسُ فيه عناصرُ السَّردِ والمَسرحُ والسينما والسيناريو والمُراسلاتُ بمَهارةٍ وخِفّة قلَّ نظيرُها.
وقد حصلت هذه الرواية على جائزة كتارا للعام 2017
