أيّها الجمالُ الإلهيّ، الفتنَةُ الساحرة منذُ نشوء الخَليقة، ها أنتَ تذرع شوارعِ بغدادَ الجافّة، والمُثقلة بالآلام والجُروحِ.

لكن القدر شاء أن يولد في بغداد، في دروبها المظلمة، وفي مهبّ رياحها العاتية، وتحت شمسها اللافحة، بين قوم يبجّلون السّحر والخرافات والأوهام، ينتصرون للقُبح، وينبذونَ الجمال.
