هذا الكتاب الذي بين يديك، قرائي العزيز، يتحدَّث عن سرّ المسحة المقدَّسة وإن جدَّة هذا السِّر وفرادته التامة، تنبعان من كونه لا يمنح الإنسان موهبة خاصة، أو مواهب من الروح القدس، بل يمنح الروح القدس نفسه بوصفه موهبة. ففيه نأخذ "بالموهبة" ما أخده المسيح وحده "بالطبيعة"، أي الروح القدس الذي منحه الآب للابن منذ الأزل. كما يتحدَّث هذا الكتاب أيضاً عن الأصول الأولى لعمل الميرون المقدَّس، حيث يورد نص أقدم وثيقة معروفة حتى الآن عن هذا الموضوع، وهي رسالة لأسقف مصري تعود إلى القرن العاشر الميلادي، وهي تُنشر كاملة لأوَّل مرة باللغة العربية، وذلك نقلاً عن مخطوط فريد محفوظ الآن في المكتبة الأهليَّة بباريس. كما يورد هذا الكتاب أيضاً دراسة طقسيِّة مقارنة لقدَّاس تكريس الميرون، مع زيت الغاليليون، زيت البهجة والفرح
