حلول صَوم الميلاد في كلِّ سنة، هو إيذانٌ بدخول الكنيسـة زمـن التَّسبيح والتَّهليل والصَّلاة. فما هي إلاَّ بضعة أيام منه، حتى يجيء شـهر كيهك المبارك حاملاً في جعبته كعادته كنــزاً هبيجـاً مـن الألحـان والتَّسابيح، فتعود الكنيسة تتزيَّن فيه بزيِّها الأصيل، حينما تطـوي ليـالي الآحاد منه، في سهر مصحوب بتمجيد وتسبيح ودعاء للمسـيح الإلـه والعذراء القدِّيسة أم االله، حتى يشرق نور الفجر أو يكـاد، فتُقـيم سـرَّ الإفخارستيَّا، ويلتف السَّاهرون حول المسيح، مترقِّبين في لهفة واشـتياق ميلاده البتولي اجمليد، وحلوله في بيته بين ذويه، بل وفيهم.وهكذا في كلِّ ليلة أحد من شهر كيهك، تناجي الكنيسة عريسـها المسيح، وأُمَّه أُمِّي العذراء كلَّ حين، والتي منها صـار مـيلاد المسـيح وميلادي، واستعلان المسيح وحياتي. والكنيسة وهي بين تطويب أُمِّه وتمجيد ابنها، تكون بمثابة من يفرش ويهيئ المزود، لاستقبال المولود الإلهي. ولكن هذه المرَّة، في قلوب بسيطة متَّضعة، حينما تخشع القلوب من تواتر الشُّخوص بتأمُّل، فيمن صار إنساناً لأجلنا. وحينما تتَّضع النُّفوس من مداومة التَّسبيح والصَّلاة، يأتي السيِّد إلى هيكله، وإذا بالهيكل قد صار صالحاً لسُكناه وحلوله فيه، بعد أن تقـدَّس بذكر اسم ابن االله، يسوع المسيح.
