يعتبر كارانوفيتش رمزاً من رموز الثقافة العدمية في أوروبا الشرقية، يمزج في شعره بين الأسلوب اللغوي المعقد والمنساب للتعبير عن الحاجة للتغيير السياسي والثقافي وتجاوز الفساد القائم. تجّول كارانوفيتش في أوروبا حاملاً حقيبته على كتفيه متنقلا بين العديد من الوظائف، وقد وصل به الأمر حد تملكه متجراً موسيقياً لمدة 13 عشر عاماً. أعتبر لسنوات من مثقفي الطبقات السفلى، وكان له أثراً كبيراً في شعر الشعراء الشباب. انشغل بحساسية المدنية الحديثة، وتعكس أعماله الأدبية عموماً ثقافة أفلام وأغاني البوب الشعبية. وتلخص هذه القصائد تجربته في النثر والسريالية. المؤلف زفونكو كارانوفيتش (مواليد عام 1959، نيش، صربيا)شاعرٌ وروائيٌّ صِربيٌّ. يعملُ صحفيًّا، ومُقدِّمَ برامج إذاعيّة، ومُنسِّقَ أغان DJ ومُنظِّمَ حفلات. امتلكَ مَتجرًا مُوسيقيًّا لثلاثة عشر عامًا. تُرجمَتْ أعمالُهُ إلى ستّ عشرة لُغة، ونُشِرَتْ في العديدِ من المجلَّاتِ الأدبيَّةِ الصِّربيَّةِ والعالميَّةِ. حصلَ على العديدِ من الجوائزِ الأدبيَّةِ، وهو عضوٌ في PEN الصِّربيَّةِ. يعيشُ ويعملُ في بلغراد.
