يمثل هذا الكتاب رغبة قوية في الإستعادة، إستعادة الإنسان لإنسانيته التي تتبدد بفعل الخبرات المتبادلة والتجارب السيئة، وسطوة الحياة العملية على أذهان الناس، والزحام الشديد وشدة السعي في طلب الرزق، وكثرة المتطلبات على الكواهل واشتعال النهم والتنافس، وبعض الحكم والأمثال، وما يوصي به حتى الأهل أبناءهم بأن لا يلتفتوا لأحد.
هذا الكتاب (كن جميلاً) مهتم بأنسنة الإنسان، وبدعوته لصحوة أخلاقية وسلوكية يسترد فيها الجمال القابع فيه؛ وهذا الكتاب يحاول في هذه المهمة الصعبة بقدر كبير من البراءة، وهو أقل وطناً من أن يعتبر مشروعاً ضخماً جامعاً مانعاً، وهو كذلك ليس أكاديمياً يستند إلى مراجع تربوية رصينة، كما أنه ليس شاعرياً بالدرجة المتوقعة من أديب؛ إنما هو جيد بسيط مخلص خرج على شكل صور طبيعية من حياة الناس.
لهذا جاءت حلقاته أفقية، هذه الحلقة بعد ذلك، بمسافة مناسبة، مثل أحجار في بركة الحياة، ثابتة سهلة الوطء، تبعث على الشعور بالثقة، ولا تنتهي خطوطها في قلب المياه، وضعتها كي تمروا عليها بسلام.
