عاش طفولته تحت حكم صدام حسين وشهد اجتياح القوات العسكرية الأمريكية لإسقاط النظام باسم «الحرية».
وبسبب تنظيره حول الجسد والجنسانية، أرغمته الميليشيات الدينية المتشددة على ترك العراق عام 2012.
كتب في منصات مختلفة مثل رصيف22 ومنشور وحبر وماي.كالي ومجلة كحل، عن سياسات الهويات الجنسية والحجاب ومناهضة الاستعمار والفن أسس مبادرة سينمجي المعنية بالجنسانية والجسد في السينما العربية سنة 2016.
