وسعد سامي رمضان يسجل في طيات هذا الكتاب بعض من تلك المحطات وبعض الصور من سيرة كوكب الشرق سيدة مطربة العصر بالتفصيل الكامل. وعن هذه المحطات التي أتى على ذكرها اللقاءات بينها وبين شعراء وملحنين مرموقين يذكرهم ويذكر ما أثروا من خلال عطاءاتهم في المرحلة الفنية للمطربة الكبيرة إلى جانب ذلك ففي هذا الكتاب يتوقف سعد سامي رمضان في محطات أم كلثوم عند بعض الأصدقاء الذين ألقوا الأضواء عليها من خلال كتاباتهم الموضوعية التي جاءت ضمن مقالات أدرجها بين دفتي هذا الكتاب، كما أنه أدرج بعض المقتطفات الصحفية لعدد من المهتمين بتراث سيدة الغناء العربي الخالدة "أم كلثوم إبراهيم".
وقد أرفق هذا الكتاب بشريط كاسيت احتوى على مقدمة لسعد سامي رمضان ثم رأي عبد الوهاب بصوت أم كلثوم، وأم كلثوم ومقطعاً من أنت الحب، وقصيدة ثورة الشك تلقيها أم كلثوم ثم تنشد مقطعاً منها.
