من المهن المتوارثة في البحرين، مهنة صيد اللؤلؤِ، امتهنها أهل البلاد على مدى أجيال، ففي هذا الفضاء البحري الأثير على قلوب الجميع سيتعرف الأولاد على قصة «جمعة والبشارة»، القصة التي تقدمها الكاتبة الدكتورة عايدة سميح الصعيدي بأسلوب حكائي تربوي يستوحي الأسطورة ويستثمر الخيال في نقل عوالم ما يُعرف برحلات الغوص الكبير عند ساحلِ المحرق البحرينيّةِ، إلى الجيل الجديد. حيث يجتمع البحارة والغواصون وربان السفن عند كل موسم صيد استعداداً للإبحار خلف السفينة القائدة التي تمضي تمخر عباب البحر.. ولكن هذه المرة سيكون بينهم "جمعة" الشاب الصغير الذي سيرافق أباه الربان عبد الله في رحلة بحرية لصيد المحار ليتعلم منه طرق الصيد الحديثة ويكتشف الكثير من أسرار البحر...
ولكن، ما هي قصة "حورية البحر" التي منعت ربان السفينة من الاقتراب من المحار، حتى يأتيها بمهدٍ لوليدها!!... وهل سيعود الربان إلى الحوريّةِ ومعه المهد؟... كم نحن متشوقون لسَماع نهاية الحكايةِ....
