لم أجد مشهداً يناسب الأحداث الواردة في الكتاب، ويذكر الأجيال المتعاقبة بالاستعمار البريطاني في منظقة الخليج سوى صورة الاستعماي المتعالي للورد "جورج كريزون George Curzon" أقوى وأخطر شخصية استعمارية حكمت منطقة الخليج بضفّتيها الشرقيّة الفارسيّة والغربيّة العربيّة.
كان نائب ملك بريطانيا – حاكما عاماً للهند البريطانية – في الفترة من 1898م حتى 1905م، خلال فترة حكم الملكة "فكتوريا" ثم الملك "إدوارد" أصبح بعدها وزيراً للخارجية البريطانية خلال فترة حكم الملك جورج الخامس في الفترة من 1919م حتى 1924م.
كان يمثل الإمبريالية البريطانية في الهند والشرق الأوسط بأوسع مفاهيمها.. ومن أقواله ونظرته المتعالية: "العالم رقعة شطرنج كبرى نلعب فيها أجمل الألعاب".. هكذا كان ينظر "كريزون" للعالم وعلى الأخص دول الكومنولث البريطانية ومن بينها دول الخليج وشعوبها وحكمها. وأن وضع صورته على الغلاف ليس تكريماً لشخصه، بل تذكيراً بدوره الاستعماري في المنطقة.
