تدور أحداث هذه الحكاية حول سحلية صغيرة كانت تعيش فى عالم جميل أسفل شجرة الشوك؛ حيث الثمار الرطبة والأشواك التى تبعد أعدائها؛ وهكذا كانت عائلة هان ومان وهون من أبناء السحالى تنعم بأكثر معيشة رغدة فى عالم البحيرة؛ ولكن الفضول؛ كان يملأ قلب السحلية حول كل الامور العجيبة؛ التى تدور خارج عالمها الصغير؛ وهكذا قررت ان تكسك الخوف التى تجذَر فى قلوب كل من عرفتهم من عشيرتها لتخرج فى رحلة استكشافية نحو عالم بحيرة التماسيح؛ تلك الرحلة الفريدة و الأقرب للحلم؛ و التى يتحتّم عليها فيها أن تواجه كل مخاوفها؛ والتى تنتهى باكتسابها أصدقاء جدد لم تكن لتتخيّلهم؛ ولكن الطريق الغريب الذى اختارته دربًا لها؛ انتهى بسلّم عظيم صعد بها إلى السّماء!
