هذا هو الكتاب الثانى؛ من سلسلة حكايات بحيرة التماسيح؛ وتقع أحداثة مباشرة بعد الطوفان الكبير الذى أحدثه نهر النيل؛ ودمار مملكة الموه القديمة؛ تحت أمواج نالينوس العظيمة؛ لسنوات طويلة إختفت كل أشجار الغابة العتيقة؛ تحت صفحة المياة الكبيرة للبحيرة التى شكّلها الفيضان فيما عدا تلك الشجرة العظيمة التى تتوسط البحيرة؛ و التى كانت تتجاوز بارتفاعها قمم الجبال العالية فأطلقت عليها الحيوانات التى سكنت شواطىء البحيرة اسم "الجبل الأخضر" وهكذا رأى نسور الجبال فى هذا الجبل الغريب موطنًا جديدًا لهم؛ وأسس الملك "كاروبا" مملكته الجديدة ووضع قوانينه الخاصة؛ فيم عُرف ذلك الزمان بعصر النور؛ ولكن شبح الموت؛ يأتى البحيرة و يحصد أرواح الجميع؛ وهكذا وجدوا انفسهم مضطّرين للمشاركة فى تلك اللعبة المميتة التى ستحدد مصير كل واحد منهم؛ وهى اللعبة التى أسماها الحيوانات بلعبة الثعبان والبيضة!... الكتاب يضم أكثر من 250 لوحة بالحبر الشينى؛ تصور علم البحيرة و حروب الممالك العتيقة مع الموت؛ وحتى سقوط مملكة "كاروبا"
