تدور أحداث هذه الحكاية حول ثعبان يدعى "كاهار" يستخدم السحر الأسود فى إصطياد ضحاياه من العصافير؛ ولكنه يعجز عن اصطياد عصفوران يتيمان يعيشان بمفرديهما فوق شجرة الجوزاء؛ وهنا يستدعىى الثعبان صديقه القديم؛ الفآر ألفنسو؛ ملك الدهاء والخبث فى عالم البحيرة؛ فبرغم ان ذلك الفأر يصلح وجبة طعام ممتازة؛ لذلك الثعبان؛ إلا ان الماضى الشرير الذى جمع بين الصديقان يحول بين تحقيق هذا الغرض؛ و يتحدان ضد العصفوران؛ ولكن لا أحد يستطيع تخيّل نهايات قصص حكايات بحيرة التماسيح!
