بول ريكور (بالفرنسية: Paul Ricœur ) فيلسوف فرنسي وعالم إنسانيات معاصر ولد في فالينس، شارنت، 27 فبراير 1913، وتوفي في شاتيناي مالابري، 20 مايو 2005. هو واحد من ممثلي التيار التأويلي، اشتغل في حقل الاهتمام التأويلي ومن ثم بالاهتمام بالبنيوية، وهو امتداد لفريديناند دي سوسير. يعتبر ريكور رائد سؤال السرد. أشهر كتبه (نظرية التأويل -التاريخ والحقيقة-الزمن والحكي- الخطاب وفائض المعنى - Interpretation philosophic theory - Discourse and the Surplus of Meaning / من منشورات جامعة تكساس المسيحية عام 1976).

كتاب الزمان والسر الحبكة والسرد التاريخي الجزء الأول تأليف بول ريكور، يعد هذا الكتاب واحد من أهم و أشهر الكتب التى صدرت فى عصره فقد كان ثورة فكرية فى مضمونه ومحتواه وما يحمله من فكر، فقد قال عنه هيدن وايت بأنه "أهم عملية تأليف بين النظرية الأدبية والنظرية التاريخية أنتجت في قرننا هذا". ينقسم هذا الكتاب إلى ثلاثة أجزاء، فى الجزء الأول يتحدث الكاتب عن المفهوم الغربي عن علاقة الزمان بالسرد ويوضح هذا المفهوم فى قسمين القسم الأول يتحدث من خلاله عن دائرة الزمان والسرد أما القسم الثانى فيتناول من خلاله الحديث عن الإشكالية التى تقوم عليها الكتابة التاريخية من خلاله الربط بين علاقة التاريخ والسرد. وعن الجزء الثانى من الكتاب يتحدث الكاتب عن الجذور المعرفية للكتابة التاريخية في طبعتيها لدى مدرسة الحوليات الفرنسية. أما الجزء الأخير من الكتاب خصصه ريكور للحديث عن مشكلة الاشتقاق غير المباشر للمعرفة التاريخية من الفهم السردي من جهة ومنزلة الحديث الإبستمولوجية ومنزلته الأنطولوجية من جهة أخرى.
