د محمدالتونجي دكتور في اللغة العربية وكاتب ولد في مدينة حلب عام 1933 وتلقى تعليمه فيها وتخرج من جامعة دمشق حاملا الإجازة في اللغة العربية ودبلوم التربية ونال الدكتوراه في الادب الفارسي من طهران وأخرى من الجامعة اليسوعية وعمل مدرسا ووكيلا لكلية الاداب ونال العديد من الجوائز من مختلف الدول وله مؤلفات كثيرة.وهو يدرس اليوم بجامعة الشهباء الخاصة بحلب مادة أخلاقيات المهنة .

لقد أثبتت الحاجة العلميَّة الماسَّة، أن الطَّلاب في شتى مراحلهم الثانوية والجامعيَّة، يحتاجون إلى مثل هذه الكتب النَّحويَّة المبسَّطة التي تنير ما قد سها المعلّم عن إعطائه، او تعذَّر عليهم الوصول إليه.
وفي هذه الطبعة الجديدة لمعجم الأدوات النحوية، سعى المؤلّف أن تكون مشروحة أكثر، شاملة عدداً أكبر من الأدوات والألفاظ؛ وفصَّل إعراب المفردات والجمَل، وبسَّط وحذف وعدَّل، مستغنياً عن الشَّواذ، مهتمَّاً بذكر الشَّائع العام.
ولقد إزدادت هذه الطَّبعة عن سابقتها بأنَّ الطَّبعة السَّابقة جمعت (108) أدوات، وهذه الطَّبعة ضمَّت (156) أداة.
